Group Pimping

Made a deviant group for Faye Chamberlain from the Secret Circle, who is the best character on that show. She's so deliciously wicked and sexy and Phoebe Tonkin plays her to perfection, so I couldn't resist making a group to support and love her and her awesomeness. Feel free to sign up if you're a Faye fan or SC fan.

Feel kind of weird writing this so late into making my account, but I wanted to wait until summer was over before I started actively writing entries. That and I've never been the biggest talker. I have to change that.

Anyway, I'm going to ramble a bit but right now I'll just keep it to ranfom fandom thoughts I've had over the summer, or things I'm looking forward to.

First up, Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle double feature. Didn't really disappoint, though it's still early so that could change. My main issue with VD was the lack of Anna actually speaking, but hey, we'll take it one step at a time. And Tyler/Caroline was so awesome even before their sex scene, that just made it epic. And I know David Gallagher is probably dead by the end of next episode, and too bad, because I like him so far. I am curious what happens since it looks like the hybrids Klaus turns can't handle the transition (pretty sure I saw a chick with bleeding eyes in the preview for next week). Speaking of Klaus, I'm slowly warming up to Joseph Morgan. At first I didn't really like him since after all the hype with the casting and then seeing who they picked on screen, it seemed a tad underwhelming. It still is to an extent, but he's getting better. Though his American accent was more threatening and creepier than anything else he's done since he premiered, lol.

I'm really digging The Secret Circle so far. Phoebe Tonkin as Faye is BAMF, and sex on legs. She's just so deliciously wicked and a bit slutty but I really don't care because she rocks. I also love Gale Harold as Charles, who is pretty much the 'Elijah' of SC so far. Brittany Robertson wasn't as annoying as I thought she was going to be; I actually like her a good bit, though I do not ship Adam/Cassie at all. My Cassie ship is a little different. Let's just say it's a May/December relationship. But my muse is a sucker for those types and when he got this ship, he latched on and hasn't dropped it. It's also really nice to see Natasha Henstridge again. She's aged really well and actually was reminding me of Jill Wagner from Teen Wolf. Looking forward to next week's episode.

Speaking of Teen Wolf, I enjoyed the series when it was on MTV. There were parts I would have changed, and some of the teen drama got bad with the writing, but all in all the first season was pretty good, and I'm glad they didn't leave it open with a cliffhanger on the risk that it would get cancelled (like The Gates). And I really loved Ian Bohen as Peter Hale; hated that he died. I don't think I really disliked anyone save for Kate, but hey, every show needs a crazy bitch. :D And I really dug the effects, particularly for the Alpha, which was an interesting werewolf design and looked like a real scary mofo, especially when it was KNB's practical makeup.

The last movies I saw in theaters were Fright Night and Conan. Both were good, but both could've used some work, more Conan than Fright Night. But Fright Night was quite good, Jerry/Amy was hot and I have a huge soft spot for Charlie/Doris thanks to their first scene and then when he tries to rescue her only for her to burn up. The part where she sees him watching Jerry feed on her and makes the motion for him to be quiet was the part that cemented it, since usually you have those scenes where the girl is giving that pleading 'Help me' look and the guy gets guilty for being too freaked to help. I'm glad they didn't do that with this one. Oh, and Ginger was awesome. Loved that girl.

In lighter ramblings, I'm digging Death Valley on MTV, and looking forward to The Thing prequel that's coming out in October. I wish Cabin In The Woods was also coming out in October instead of April, but that's wishful thinking. Creature sucked, majorly. Neat premise that was destroyed by the execution of it. Attack the Block and Tucker and Dale vs Evil on the other hand were great old-school style horror films that I loved and will definitely be getting when they come out. I'm actually looking forward to The Howling Reborn, but mainly because of Ivana Milicevic as a bitchy Alpha werewolf villain, and the werewolf effects, which look surprisingly good.

Alright, I think that's the majority of what I wanted to say right now. Will probably post again this week at some point. I'm just so glad my summer schedule is done and Fall is right around the corner. And Howl-O-Scream is in a couple of weeks. Really looking forward to that. :D Alright, till next time!

"I have just stumbled upon some HIGHLY shocking news that everyone needs to know about right now!

We all know about copyright infringement and the numerous laws preventing us from using copyrighted material. Some sites and companies take these things very seriously if you do not have permission from said company. But there are sites and companies that's only ask that you give credit where credit is due. Thankfully like DA.

Now, over the past few days I have just been strolling thru the Internet, visiting some of my fav sites to chill on, and every site has been posting the same thing, and if what they are saying is true... Guys, were ALL in trouble!

Word is that Congress is looking to pass a new bill for copyright laws, and what this bill states is that ANYONE that streams/posts anything that has been copyrighted can be CRIMINALLY CHARGED with massive fines and in some cases being IMPRISONED.

This bill can actually cripple companies, and ruin people's lives and may throw societies into chaos!

Big websites such as DeviantART, YouTube, IGN and Machinima will probably be the hardest hit, and I'll just go thru and describe why I chose these 4 and I will also describe the severity of the punishments for this new bill.

I'll start with YouTube.
This site will most likely be THE HARDEST HIT, only because of how much copyrighted material this site contains. If this bill is to be passed this will mean that YouTube will have to remove every single video that contains copyrighted material. This may sound just like the old laws and rules for YouTube but it's just more sever! Let's take Justin Beiber as a example, he was discovered on YouTube with some of his covers of other artists, but because he did not have permission to cover the song, he can now be criminally charged. Same goes for any other musician that covers songs. Not only that, but now any body that reviews clips of something that has been copyrighted can also be found criminally offensive. Ray William Johnson the host of the hit YouTube show =3 and frontman for comedy hip hop group Your Favorite Martian can also be charged for simply reviewing clips from Fox News and wherever else and using references to other things in his music. And this man had made his life off this site and has become the most subscribed channel on YouTube, and now him and Justin Beiber can now be found as criminals.

DeviantART, our home...
We can be found criminally for just simply drawing our favorite characters with out permission from Disney or any other animation company. And think of how many fan bases are on this site, and also think of how many artists are on this site. I don't think that there is one artist on DA that hasn't done any form of fan art. And with this law it means that we will now have to remove it all! This will probably destroy the site. Think of how life for all of us will be if we couldn't draw our fav characters. And it's not stealing, I see it as idolizing! and if the bill gets passed (let's use our P and F fan base) we will have to remove all our pics, comics and ocs! No RWOB, Izz-Z Factor, Twist in the Universe, Seer! No Nightmares, Olivia, Danielle, Marie! No anything!

The punishments for this new bill are RIDICULOUS! they include being fined thousands upon thousands of dollars and in some cases even a Max of 5 years in prison! I'm not joking!

All they say, is that they ask us to get permission from the company first. But come on! If I email Disney and ask to use P and F in a drawing do you think they will answer? No, I don't. They far to busy creating master pieces to answer.

Guys, I'm not lying about this! This is serious shit!

I don't want to get you all worried (but that's probably what I did) but we just need to be informed. It may take sometime for this bill to get passed but who knows for sure.

And maybe we can't do anything to fight it, or maybe we can?

I ask you to please spread the word so we can all be informed and maybe rise up and stop this before it's too late!

Apparently, there's a hacker going around and hacking into other people's accounts to block your friends so that your friends blocks you, gets you in trouble, and could get you banned from DeviantART. If you get this warning, copy and paste this into your Journal and spread this to everyone!
